June Payment Statistics
Jul 1, 2025
Our eighth month of payment statistics! Monero maintains its top position, and we continue to diversify the payment methods with several new additions. For context on these statistics, NanoGPT averages roughly 130 crypto payments per day at the moment. We believe this makes us one of the largest crypto merchants, and it likely means that these payment statistics can be quite relevant for other merchants considering crypto payments.

Key Observations
-
Monero (XMR) remains the #1 cryptocurrency by payment volume at 42.55%, though it has decreased from its peak of 47.36% last month.
-
Nano (XNO) showed strong recovery, climbing back to 24.27% from 18.45%.
-
Litecoin (LTC) emerged as June's biggest gainer, surging to 10.92% from 6.07% - an 80% relative increase. This growth positions LTC as the third most popular payment method, overtaking Bitcoin.
-
Bitcoin (BTC) remained relatively stable at 10.45% (down slightly from 11.52%), now in fourth place. Interestingly, with the addition of Bitcoin Lightning Network at 0.24%, the total Bitcoin ecosystem represents 10.69% of payments, still slightly below Litecoin. Let's see what next month brings, since it's quite close.
-
Ethereum (ETH) and VERSE both experienced minor declines (5.64% and 3.20% respectively), suggesting some consolidation after recent growth periods.
-
Bitcoin Cash (BCH) saw a significant relative drop to 1.28% from 3.01%.
-
Solana (SOL) experienced the largest relative decline, after having grown a fair bit last month.
-
New Additions: We've added support for Bitcoin Lightning Network (BTC-LN), Kaspa (KAS), and MultiversX (EGLD). We don't think these statistics mean anything yet, we're mostly looking forward to seeing what happens with them next month.
Looking Ahead
We're wondering whether the addition of Kaspa, MultiversX and Lightning are going to make a large impact. Only time will tell, but we're looking forward to seeing how they compare to the other crypto that we support.
