Frequently asked questions
How to get Claude Pro for a less price?
By Milan de Reede · CEO & Co-Founder
Quick answer
The cheapest ways to get and use Claude depend on whether you need the standard web chat interface, developer API access, or tool integrations like Claude Code.
The full answer
There are two honest ways to pay less: commit for a year, or stop paying a flat fee you're not using. Of course, plenty of people think $20 a month is steep for the limits you get, which is why the workarounds exist at all.
Official ways to pay less
Annual billing. Pay for the year upfront on Anthropic's site and the effective monthly cost drops about 15%.
Web, not the app store. Subscribe through the official website. Going through iOS or Android piles third-party platform fees onto the same subscription.
API pay-as-you-go. Use an API key instead of a flat plan. Under roughly 50 sessions a month you'll pay less than $20, and only on the days you actually show up.
Alternative and free workarounds
Route your tools through cheaper models. Claude Code works with any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, so you can point it at Sonnet 5 at $2/$10 per million or run something local through Ollama. Same workflow, smaller bill.
Account marketplaces: don't. GamsGo and G2G sell shared logins. As you can see from what you're buying, your chats live in an account you don't control, access can vanish, and it breaks Anthropic's terms.
If you wonder which route fits, it's just volume. Tell us how many prompts you send a day and we'll work out which is genuinely cheaper.
