October 2026 Crypto Payment Statistics: USDT and Bitcoin Gain on Monero

This report is part of our monthly crypto merchant data series. See all NanoGPT crypto payment statistics.
October spread crypto deposits more evenly across the top three payment methods. Monero remained first at 31.83%, while USDT and on-chain Bitcoin each gained more than 8 percentage points.
Monero stays first
Monero fell from 44.02% in September to 31.83% in October, a drop of 12.19 percentage points. It was still the largest single payment method. These figures measure payment share; a lower share alone does not establish a fall in absolute deposit volume.
USDT reaches a quarter of deposits
USDT rose from 15.66% to 24.85%, moving further ahead in second place. USDC moved the other way, from 7.29% to 5.91%.
Together, USDT and USDC accounted for 30.76% of crypto deposit value, up from 22.95% in September. PYUSD added another 0.06%.
Bitcoin climbs back above 20%
On-chain Bitcoin rose from 12.37% to 20.99%. Lightning slipped from 1.78% to 1.38%.
Combined, Bitcoin and Lightning represented 22.37%, up from 14.15% in September.
Zano drops out
Zano, fifth in September at 3.96%, recorded no deposits in October. Zano deposits have been temporarily paused since late September.
TON nearly doubles while Nano and Bitcoin Cash slip
TON nearly doubled its share, from 1.09% to 2.17%. Ethereum rose from 3.22% to 3.74%, Solana from 2.97% to 3.49%, and TRX from 0.65% to 1.01%. Litecoin was almost unchanged at 1.73%.
Nano fell from 2.57% to 1.34%, and Bitcoin Cash from 1.48% to 0.35%. Zcash declined from 0.49% to 0.17%.
